The Department of Transportation has established stringent requirements for bulk shipments of hazardous materials. Learn how to prepare bulk shipments in Environmental Resource Center’s web-based training that makes the DOT rules easy to understand.
In this session, you will learn how to:
- Determine which materials of the materials that you ship are classified as hazardous materials when shipped in bulk quantities
- Properly select, fill, and seal bulk packages
- Determine which marks and placards apply to your shipments
- Properly complete shipping papers
- Protect yourself from hazards and emergencies
- Comply with security requirements applicable to your shipments
All personnel involved in bulk shipments of hazardous materials must receive general awareness, function-specific, safety, and security training. This interactive online training fulfills each of these requirements for anyone involved in highway or rail bulk shipments.
