The Emergency Planning and Community and Community Right to Know Act (known as EPCRA or SARA Title III) requires you to inform your community and notify emergency responders about the chemicals at your facility. Although the requirements of this law could be daunting, if you don’t comply, emergency responders in your community might not have the information that they need to assist you in the event of an emergency.
The law doesn’t just apply to large facilities. Common items such as forklift batteries, paint, and cleaners are subject to its reporting requirements.
